Hello!
I’m Mandi! I’m an NDTR (nutrition & dietetic technician, registered) and I help women maintain their health through all ages and stages of the nutrition lifecycle. I specialize in nutrition education/consulting, meal planning and meal prepping with women over 40. I am most often found in the kitchen, cooking my favorites, trying new recipes, or puttering around the kitchen island. Let’s cook!
What do you mean, Pure Life?
Pure Life Nutrition, the name, came about after a family trip to Costa Rica in 2022. We fell in love with the country, the beaches, the people, the lifestyle, the food. Their national motto is “pura vida” which loosely translated can mean different things depending on the context: thank you, you’re welcome, that is great, life is good, thank you, have a good day, the simple life. For me there is such beauty in the phrase “pura vida” to convey a warm, friendly sensibility with just a couple of words. It evokes a sense of peace, calm, happiness, acceptance, simplicity, joy, and gratitude. Directly translated into English, “pura vida” means pure life.
Welcome to Pure Life Nutrition!
My goal is to cultivate and incorporate that pure life sensibility into my life and my corner of the nutrition world. My personal approach to health and wellness focuses on what we can ADD to the plate to make it delicious, interesting, and fun rather than restricting foods. We will share and build recipes that you’ll want to make and eat, that are straightforward and simple, that will nourish your body and make you feel good. We can have fun, inspire each other, hold space for ourselves and others, practice mindfulness, kindness and grace, and learn some things along the way.
Let me be clear that Pure Life does not mean perfect life. Perfection is not what we are striving for here. There’s no space for negativity, shame, blame. We do not label foods “good” or “bad”. Food does not hold moral value. There is space for all foods in this kitchen with the only exceptions being the ones that you are allergic to or avoid for medical, religious or other personal reasons. We aim for progress, daily wins, small highlights, sustainable habits, lifestyle shifts, tidbits of joy, and personally meaningful moments that create your very own unique and beautiful pure life.
